I’m not saying inheriting controls would be awful (although I can think of a number of issues with it)
I am saying that it currently might happen to seem to work on the web but after talking with Greg I can tell you that it’s not safe to assume that it should work (although it happens to in several scenarios) or that it will continue to work
The IDE will likely be altered to behave like desktop for this use case so its more consistent
