installing XCode from another Mac

Hello,
since my Internet connection is rather slow, I went to download Xcode at a friend who has got a better connection.
But alas, his connection is not so good as I hoped, so after six hours the connection dropped for a few seconds, and my download disappeared.
This happened yesterday and today.
Now I was thinking of asking another friend of mine who has got XCode 10.1 installed on his Mac to zip it and send it to me on a flash drive.

Hence my question: is it possible to install XCode in this way?

Suggestions appreciated. Thank you.

You have to try yourself. I think everything is now in the app itself. Any additional stuff can be downloaded by XCode.

No Apple Store around your home/work/living area, I suppose ?

@Carlo Rubini — Have you tried to download Xcode from Safari? I should allow you to resume downloading on failure.

Link to Xcode 10.1

You have to have an Apple Developper account (free).

@ Stphane Mons Perfect! I started downloading it, then stopping the process and resuming it, the process carried on from the last size. Thank you very much.

@EmileSchwarz No, the nearest Apple Store is too far away and their connection too is not so good.

not sure I downloaded it with appstore no need for a dev account ?

You can do that as far I know. (copying Xcode from one computer to other)

When trying from the provided link… I tried ans that is the reasong I entered in the discussion.
