I look for Mac OS Tips in Mail.app and Passwords.app

Each time I paste a link in Mail.app, I have to click on the small button on the right to select “convert to simple link” as I want. I didn’t find any settings to set that as default.

I updated my Mac to Sequoia and I have now the application Passwords.app . I used in previous system Keychain Access.app but as far I understood it will be remove in future version.
In Keychain Access.app I added “Secure Note” to put my Credit card number, the date end, and the three digit. I didn’t find how to add secure note in Passwords.app .

I have too a crypted .dmg in which I put some sensitive files, but I would prefer for some things to use secure notes in Passwords.app .

Do you know how to do that? Thank you.

Depending on you macOS/mail.app version you can see under Mail - Settings - Composing - Add link previews that is checked by default. You will need to uncheck that.

Thank you AlbertoD, I didn’t see it, even if I search it many time.
I use Mac OS Sequoia.

From my point of view, Apple has deprecated “Secure Notes” and “KeyChain Access”.

You can still open “Secure Notes” with “Keychain Access” under Sequoia and Tahoe beta - but only read and modify them. You can no longer create a new Secure Note.

The new password app does not recognize Secure Notes.

I think Apple recommends the Notes App for secure notes in the future.

As @AlbertoD wrote:
Mail → Settings → Composing → “Composing” → Add link previews

This works in Sequoia.

If you want this all in one place, I suggest 1Password.

Thanks Wolfgang, I finally found with the indication of Alberto.
Thank you Greg, I know 1Password but I don’t want another software.

Most people who don’t use a third-party password manager create encrypted notes in the Notes app.
