HTTPSecureSocket: How can I get the serial number of an SSL certificate?

Hello Everyone,

I’m writing an app that needs to verify that it is connecting to the right site and that the SSL certificate is a SPECIFIC certificate identified by a specific serial number. Does anyone know if there is a way to examine the SSL certificate that the HTTPSecureSocket receives?

A feature request was submitted back in 2008 for that kind of functionality.
