how to force a menu item not to be greyed out

Hi Guys,
I know when you “de activate” a window and just click on the desktop that the menu items for the program are still available however they are greyed out.
I have an app which uses a window (only window) that hides itself once the mouse has moved off it.
What I would like is for the menu items to be still active ( not greyed out )

Is it possible to force the menu items FILE / item 1 and File / Item 2 etc … to stay usable even though the applications window is hidden?

In Windows and Linux it isn’t a problem as the user always in on the window to select File/… so it isn’t hidden automatically.

Have you tried putting the menu handlers on the App object?
