Had to rebuild a windows laptop. Now the gradient styles won’t show as gradients. They show a flat color. For example, the standard gradient for a toolbar is just flat grey.
Any ideas?

try this

does a gradient appear across the top of the window?
(I specifically chose two colors that on lower than 32-bit resolution would appear solid…if your resolution is 32-bit or higher you should see a gradient)
yes, there’s a light to dark grey gradient. ok . . . . next idea . . .
When I try to run your gradient program in IE 11, Norton tells me there is a virus, SONAR.Heuristic.120. Norton shuts it down.
Can’t get gradients to show in IE 11.
My gradients look like this in IE 11:
Should look like this (and does in FireFox, IE 10, Chrome):
Any ideas all?
Interestingly enough I tested my beta web app in IE11 and the toolbar was white, no gradient. All other browsers were fine. Haven’t dug down on that yet!
Xojo guys? Any bug here?
Whats the gradient specification look like in the page when you view it ?
OH and FYI it IS Friday night of a long weekend so you’re unlikely to get Greg or Travis who can probably answer this better than I can
Gradient specification? What’s that?
From my quick look it appears the gradient isn’t being output for IE (or isn’t being set in a way IE 11 understands)
FIle a bug report with a quick sample and I’m sure greg or travis can confirm / deny my suspicions when one of them gets a chance to look at it
This:
and then this:
Tells me you are running in the local intranet security zone. IE 11 defaults to compatibility in the local intranet zone.
Go into internet settings either through IE or through the control panel. Click the security tab then select local intranet. Click the sites button and un-check everything. You will now be running in standards compliance mode even in your local intranet.
now working on my desktop. Plus, I can’t be telling clients to do what you suggest. for them it either works or it doesn’t.
Using my program from the website has the same issue.
It’s a bug and it’s been fixed for an upcoming release of Xojo.
Fantastic … thanks Greg
