Google Translate "Xojo" becoming "realbasic"

I just sent the comment below to Google Translate (“Send a comment” link at the bottom right of their page).

It would be a good idea if others did the same, so GT stops sending back in time our development tool.

Since 2013, RealBasic has become Xojo. See http://xojo.com, as well as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xojo .

Google translate insists on transforming “Xojo” (trademark, with a capital) back in realbasic (common name). It is not the same thing.

Google translate would gain in precision by keeping “Xojo” as it is.

Thank you.

in fact I like that it transforms xojo in realbasic or even realstudio
that way if I search for “xojo something” it also gives me the results with realbasic or realstudio
and often it gives me results in xojo forum that the search of the forum did not gave me …

When I am searching for information about Xojo, I also come accross a lot of information for RealBasic/RealStudio which is very usefull and solve my problems.

In my opinion Xojo cannot be compared with the original BASIC way back. It is a language based on BASIC but much more complex.

It is fine that in Google Translate RealBasic / RealStudio is also coming up. Lets keep it that way

You don’t understand. I am not referring to the search, where it is relevant, but to https://translate.google.com where
“I use Xojo to develop my applications” is translated into “J’utilise realbasic pour développer mes applications”.

A trademark proper name should not be translated into anything. It should be kept as it is.

It would be nice if Xojo people as well started lobbying to have that fixed.

We have also submitted the change before. The more people who do it, the more attention it will get and it will hopefully be updated.

just try… as at 2nd feb 2018… still say real basic… for dutch and italian… and xojo for french and german

Did you submit the Feedback to Google?

no… where should i do that?

You can suggest a modification of the translation (the link to do so is in the translated text box) and / or send comments to Google (the link is at the bottom of the page)
