Editor Background Color

Is there no way to change the background color in the code editor?

I find it very tiring working on a white background all day. I’ve found a nice pale yellow background to be much easier on the eyes when working for hours at a time.

It can be changed:

  • Go into the Xojo preferences.
  • Select ‘Coding’ at the top of the window.
  • Scroll the list to ‘Code editor background’ and click it.
  • Select a colour by clicking the square next to the list.
  • Close the window.

Great! Changed mine to look like ‘Dark’ in VS2012 and ‘Darcula’ in JetBrains RubyMine/WebStorm. It would be good to be able to make some of the other screen chrome darker too but this is a really good start.

Thank you Ian. Didn’t see it hidden amongst the text options.

No problem…

Just found the answer to my question here. Would be nice to have some ‘themes’ for this in preferences.

If you want a new feature like that you should file a feature request in Feedback.

Thank Ian. Apologies - I’m new here.

Sorry, it fine to post ideas here, but, if you put it in feedback then you’ve got a chance that it will be actually implemented.

In the meantime my eyes are happier now…

I’d also recommend Inconsolata as a coding font (in the image above) - very easy on the eye I’d say :
