Hi Eugene,
Thanks for your thoughts. We are all based in Auckland, so no issue here. It is going to be a pretty disruptive day though.
Cheers

About 23 years ago I’ve been traveling in the Christchurch area and made some studies about the Pacific Ring of Fire. In that context I also visited Napier, east cost north island. New Zealand’s worst earthquake disaster happened there, back in 1931. A simulator at the earthquake museum in this nice rebuild city gave me an experience I’ll never forget. Seems New Zealand learned how to live with earthquakes, since nothing on earth can influence this natural phenomenon around the cleavages.

Glad you are safe. Hopefully everyone else is too.

When I lived in Los Angeles, I went through 2 big quakes, and really, I would have preferred not to. For months I felt anxiety when I perceived floor vibrations.
I’m in Christchurch, and today, this time it’s business as usual. We have power and infrastructure. We felt a massive rolling quake for about 1 to 2 minutes, but very little impact (physically) on us. Its the people in the north of the south Island that got hit badly this time. 2 dead and a hell of a mess.
Glad read you and Wayne are OK. TV always finds a way to show the most scary pictures.
Glad you are safe.
