Does Xojo 2017 r1, use the new framework as standard?

Hi everyone,

I have a question about Xojo 2017 r1 and the new framework.

When starting a new project, will Xojo use the new framework as standard or is it still the new framework?

I read somewhere in the past (I think) that when putting “Using Xojo.Core” at the app open event handler, the whole project uses the new framework. I tried to looked it up but could not find anything. Also the network here in Botswana is poor.

Can you tell me if this is correct?

Thank you very much for your time, answering my questions, which is very much appreciated.

default is old framework, but you can mix them.

for ios apps you need to use the new framework
for desktop apps, you can mix as you want as Christian said above.

Thank you very much Christian and Jean-Yves for your help. I was not sure if Xojo now would use the new framework as standard.

My second question I solved already. It is possible to add a “Using Clause” to a module, dialog or class by right-clicking on the object, choosing “Add” and then on the bottom “Add Using Clause”. Then typing the framework class you want to use (Xojo.Core).
