Disable quick edit button on controls in the IDE

Is it possible is disable the little quick edit button (pencil icon) the shows up in the lower right corner when you hover over controls in the IDE?
I find that it often gets in the way when I’m trying to use the measurement tool to align controls.

I took a look at the preferences and didn’t see anything obvious, but I was hoping that I just missed it somewhere.

I hadn’t thought about it before, but I run into it a lot when working with small controls.

I think this is from one of the first runs of the IDE. Have never ever used this stupid icon in 4 years.
