Detecting Windows Mobile

I’m tweaking my web app form for mobile devices, I can detect Android/iOS devices but from what I see from the Browser or Platform all I would get back from a Windows Mobile device would be Windows or IE! Is that the case? Curious mind.

Thanks

so IE on WP8 (Windows Phone 8), it can express itself as either “mobile browser” or “full browser” (aka desktop). So IE will respond based on how the client is setup. my work WP8 is setup as “mobile” and my personal is setup as “full”. And the phone can switch it on the fly.

not as easy as to detect as iOS.

FYI: and until last month I worked at Nokia (part of my job was to prototype the new WP8 phones). I still at Nokia just not in the phone group anymore.

Thanks Christian and Scott, sounds like just parse the User-Agent which should be little extra code. Thanks

I still would like to see Greg add an entry in enum and a few lines in the framework to detect it…

Totally agree with you, but at least I have an instant workaround.

Yes, Windows Phone starts to have success in Europe, it already reached 10% market share.
