Creating a language reference?

I have enhanced an app with scripting capabilities and I need to document it for the users.

I would like to create a navigation tree on the left and contents on the right side of a screen. The final result should be html pages which I can include in the (OSX) Help Center and also on a webpage. So for instance MediaWiki (php!) won’t be a solution for me.

I have started to create single pages of the documentation with MS Word and save them as html , and then I tie everything together using Freeway Pro. This works, but I wonder if someone knows of a simpler, more straightforward way to create such a thing?

HelpLogic (made with Xojo) can do this. It appears to be available from Software Steward now, but I don’t see a demo download.

Scrivener might also be an option.

I’ve been working on a project for the last few months that might help
Check out http://nswrs.com and see if that sounds right for you.

It’s nearing completion (hoping September), so if you like it I can set you up with a beta build to play with :stuck_out_tongue:

Helplogic used to be fantastic before it was sold, but once Software Steward took over it died. I’ve emailed for support several times and heard nothing, and wouldn’t bother buying it unless you actually hear from them.

This looks promising! Yes, please add me as a beta tester!

For the scripting part of my app, I will have a lot of single htm pages which will probably look something like this:

I wonder if something similar can be done or imported with your app?

Paul, Bill, Tim: Thank you guys for the reply!

Oliver, we might be able to make a theme that would best suit your purposes
