Clean up controls?

Hey all, apologies if this is a silly question.

Is there a way to group controls within a folder or anything else?

I only ask as I am messing around In UI design and noticed my contents panel is rather full of Canvas’s and it’s getting hard to find what I’m looking for.

Again I’m only messing around with xojo at the moment. Still figuring the IDE out.

Thank you in advance!

Yes, you can add folders to put your controls there. Insert → Folder

You can also create Control Sets (not in Web). I do this for my decoration-only labels on any window.

Everyone thank you so much for the replies! I’ll be near the computer later on so will try them all out then.

I don’t think you can add folders for including the controls.
Folders cannot be added in a window in the navigator.

  • I prefix my controls (and only the controls) to group them. C for Canvas and the like.
  • All labels usually go into a control set.
  • And when I have too many controls for my brain I make a container control and define communication between the containers.

A couple of weeks ago I finished the redesign of the second most complex window in my app. It ended up with about 15 container controls 4 levels deep.
