Cheap router for testing TFTP

It’s finally time to update TFTP Client, written originally in REALbasic to allow firmware updates of Linksys routers on the Mac. (Although it’s been updated over the years, it is still out there as 32-bit.)

Alas, I no longer have such a router but will need one to test, so I’m looking for recommendations for a router that is:

  • Cheap.
  • Updatable via a TFTP client (not server).
  • Inexpensive.
  • Can up be “updated” even when it already has the latest firmware.
  • Doesn’t cost much.

Any thoughts?

Mikrotik routers have a tftp server that allows file transfers. Several of their basic 2.4GHz home routers are about $20.

I think the HAP Mini is the smallest least expensive one.

I should add it doesn’t have a lot of flash storage, so the file sizes you could test would be relatively small.
