hi, I tried to use the example project found under office automation called Excel automation, as soon as you run the ide it detects a problem with unknown variable types such as “ExcelApplication” etc. I tried to load the Microsoft Office excel 12.0 reference but it doesn’t change anything. Anyone know how to run this sample project?
Hello,
The Xojo office plugin may need to be placed into the plugin folder. This plugin is not put into the folder by default.

and where can I find it?
It is in the Xojo program folder under the Extras folder

It Is msofficeAutomation.rbx ?
Yes that is the one to put in the Xojo Plugins folder
Just remember to restart Xojo so it can load the plugin
