I just updated App Wrapper to 3.8.6, and the app now crashes. Worse yet, it must have messed up with defaults, even a restore with Time Machine does not solve the issue.

Hopefully, Sam will be able to fix the issue rapidly.
The fix is being tested right now. Im awaiting a couple more confirmations.

I’m using 3.8.6 since release and beside the Update Message Issue, i see no other issues. Is it safe to continue using 3.8.6?
I have updated macOS to 10.13.6, and I was wondering if that could be the cause of the problem.

OSX 10.12.6 however.
Much as I prefer working on a Mac, I have to say this kind of thing is the norm with Apple.
Every. Blinking. Release. breaks something.
Whereas I have many many Windows apps that still work , unchanged , since 1998.
I wish I could just update OSX without having to worry about what I had to lose…
It is 100% my fault, I was trying to be smart in the past and forgot about how smart I was. Those that dont see the problem is because at some point youve used the Other tab for that application so that property group is initiated.
However if you havent, the new Make 64-Bit Only checkbox is using that property set, which causes the NOE.
I also should have done better by disabling the update.
Its my bad and I am sorry for this.

I would like to add a really positive comment here.
I ran into this problem with 3.8.6 a couple of weeks ago before it appeared here. I just sent the crash report directly to Sam, no message, just the standard email that AppWrapper itself created. All I did was press the send button.
The next day Sam emailed me a link to 3.8.7. The response time from Sam was, effectively, immediate (I live in the UK). This was an astonishing response time.
I would like to say to Sam, openly, that not only is he a highly accomplished author but, quite clearly, a really good guy. Just look at the number of really useful responses he makes here as well as amazing software.

BTW: App Wrapper is not the only high quality Software made by Sam. If i see something made by him i can make use of, i buy it. Instantly. A no-brainer.

Love you, Sam. Just sharing this for the benefit of someone stumbling across it. The newest version, 3.8.7, seems to still suffer the issue on my machine (except maybe a different one because it didn’t say NOE). I sent in the report to Sam, so he’ll look at it.
Anywhoo, if anyone else stumbles across the issue with 3.8.7, it’s easy to work around. Just click the Other tab. When you go back to the main tab the checkbox will work without a problem.
So I took a clean environment, no existing settings, a brand new application and tested it, yes it revealed the issue you’re having. Fixed it and re-uploaded.

Since the update to 3.8.6 and 3.8.7 I can’t open or drag and drop any application. Go back to 3.8.6 doesn’t fix the problem.
