42364 - Copy the messages content with keyboard Cmd-C/Ctrl-C
These kinds of polishes are how we get to a modern IDE; this is what people expect.

If a few keyboard shortcuts are a “huge undertaking”, I dread to think what you consider of the proposed redesign/revamp of the IDE.
Please do not get defensive. It is not necessary.

The two first items are not simple shortcuts, they are new features.

Norman days are limited to 24 hours…

But … Why did you not file a feature request ?

I’m not being defensive in the slightest, I was being rather literal! I was pointing out that such small improvements (relatively) make a big change to the perception of the IDE.

Nonsense, he runs on Canadian time which has 36 hours a day :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d happily start with just this one: <https://xojo.com/issue/28875>
Norman, perhaps you would consider reopening this one? It says Implemented & Verified but the Feedback case was for all three panes at the bottom, not just Find.

I think there are enough Feedback cases regarding keyboard shortcuts without creating more. And perhaps these kinds of things are on the cards for the IDE revamp anyhow. But here are some more random examples, plucked from Feedback.

27289 - Back and Forward buttons need keyboard shortcuts <https://xojo.com/issue/27289>

40432 - Keyboard shortcut to step through bookmarks <https://xojo.com/issue/40432>

28510 - Project > Go To Location - Provide a way to go to that location in a new tab <https://xojo.com/issue/28510>

24357 - Need shortcut for getting to Filter field <https://xojo.com/issue/24357>

11888 - Even more keyboard shortcuts for menu items <https://xojo.com/issue/11888>
It works in Windows though.

The fact that text is selected is kind of a visual confirmation of focus.
I think this is actually just an oversight in the Cocoa HTMLViewer implementation.

Thats why I stuck this one in the feedback system

They’d act as toggles between the bottom panes + add a “hide / show” item that would pop it up in whatever state it was last left or close it in its current state
Not sure about short cuts to assign though
