It generates an error 0 : Message Attempted to access cell 0,-1 but limit is 222,0
I reported this before but it was closed as “not a bug, by design”. So, is it by design that what is indicated in the LR does not work as described ? ? ?
If the bug is not in Xojo, then, it is in the LR. And if the LR is right, something is rotten in the kingdom of Denmark.
This time, it would be nice if the review was done a little less brutally, and made room for at least a trace of intelligence on the part of the report.
I usually don’t discuss bugs in the forum, but this time I think it is necessary to see if others have encountered the issue, maybe how they have resolved it other than copying cell by cell, and if at all possible, get another reply than “by design”. I cannot believe it is by design that the program does not do what is explicitly explained with an example in the LR
this was already reported some time ago as case #30864.
This case it is still in the “verified” state with no more actions.
At this point I don’t know if it is a bug in the code or in the docs.
Greg, I frankly don’t appreciate your attitude. I am not your ennemi
Instead of posting sarcastic phrases, it would be more productive if you try to help and please explain why the LR says one thing and the program behaves differently. I have constantly kept a good attitude about Xojo Inc, and never denigrated your team, even less doubted publicly your competences. On the contrary. I would like to think that you understand that when a good faith customer takes the pain to post a bug report and asks for clarification, you do not take it as a personal attack, but as an occasion to share your unique valuable insight.
If indeed the LR is in error, no need for drama. Simply state it, and have the courtesy to correct the documentation to avoid future misunderstanding. I will take that into account and move on. I will even be glad to post a bug report for the LR if it facilitates the process. If I bumped into it, I simply hope it can be spared for others. Thank you in advance.

Thank you Maurizio. The search had not fetched this report. Apparently the case had not been decided since November 2013. This post does not seem to settle which is in error :

Summary changed from ‘WebListBox documentation error’ to ‘WebListBox.Cell does not accept -1 for Row, Column the way it is documented.’
So, Greg, you where indeed aware of the problem since. Maybe that’s the reason why you got annoyed. I had no way to know I was hitting an old wound. Sorry anyway.
In your reaction to my first bug report about that (34467), the balance seems to lean clearly in favor of a documentation error :

This case has been closed because the behavior described is not a bug.
Status changed from ‘Reviewed’ to ‘Closed (By Design)’.
Report closed. This case was not ranked.
So now it would seem logical to amend the documentation to reflect the actual behavior of Xojo. Should be simple …
