Check in the Preferences: Debugging → Hide Search / Warning / Message Pane on run and change its settings, eventually.

Yes, but the problem of slow typing is not on run but coding, so this option is not relevant here.

Yes, I am aware of this quite some time already. (Win10) Having the bottom pane open with items in it, especially the Find-pane, slows down everything. I keep it shut while typing code.

I think there’s a memory leak in R4, at least on the Mac. I’m experiencing intermittent slow code editing that’s fixed by a restart of the IDE. At times I’m noticing 5 or 6 GB memory usage by Xojo when idle after it’s been open a while.
