Is the 64bit support only for iOs and not for destop/web applications?

Correct. Support for building 64-bit applications for desktop, console, and web projects will come later this year.

I’m sure Apple would like everything on the Mac App Store to include a 64-bit slice, but it’s not required yet.

My money is still on WWDC 2015.
