Now we’re just waiting for Xojo Rasp Pi support…
Tech News Today talked about that screen as well.
Cute, but for the time being, touch support seems a tad over the top. Until if ever RaspLinux supports touch. Or if Microsoft gets its shit together and issues a Windows 10 for Arm…
Huh? There are countless touchscreens being used with Raspberry Pis. This just happens to be the official one.
So the OS supports touch natively ?
For Xojo at this moment, that would require a browser that supports touch. Is there one available ?

The driver squirts out the touches as mouse events so there’s nothing special required. In lots of previous Pi projects, people have used touchscreens for climate control systems and the like.
There are also a couple of videos at the bottom of the announcement page - one is regarding Kivy support and another is a little demo. https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/the-eagerly-awaited-raspberry-pi-display/

I’ve been playing with the 2 official 7" display that I won from the element14 development contest and Xojo… and it’s awesome! The power draw is very small and the pi board embeds with the screen to use a single power source. Previous displays required a power source for the display and one for the pi board. I have the other one built into the wall for home automation and security… porting the application from python to Xojo now that pi is supported
