2019v2 slow..

Hi,
I’m currently doing a trial of xojo.
On windows 10 it seem incredibly slow.
Eg if I click on form control it takes several seconds to select it.
Strange!
It’s a pretty powerful machine too… 16bg ram and ssd…
Anyone seen this?

I use Xojo on both Mac and Windows 10. Typically the Xojo IDE runs a little smoother on Mac than Windows, but I don’t really see it as slow on Windows. There is the odd visual redraw issue on Windows, but it certainly not something you see spanning several seconds.

As is the case with many programming tools, because they can sometimes be resource hogs, I typically exclude the application folder from my antivirus scanning and avoid using OneDrive or DropBox for storing project files that I have open in the IDE.

I don’t know if any of that will help, but hopefully you get it working okay. Maybe try another machine temporarily, see if you notice a difference?

Very much this.
Cloud based file services, and intrusive virus checkers that grab files as they are written are slowing all kinds of software, and it’s the software that customers blame.

This „effect“ has been reported a few times now for 2019 R2.x, but Xojo Inc. did not find an issue yet.

None of the above seemed to be the issue but would you believe, a simple system reboot resolved the issue…
hopefully thats all it was…

I did even reinstall my macOS and removed all Plugins an so on… no luck… :confused:
Offered a full Trace to Xojo, but… :confused:
