macOS 10.15 Catalina Developer Beta

Is it OK to talk about Xojo issues seen in the latest 10.15 betas here, if we don’t reveal any Apple-proprietary NDA stuff?

Or should we submit bugreports as private using Feedback?

Isnt that covered by https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/faq

Let’s wait to report bugs until we get to the third or fourth beta. Apple usually fixes the big stuff by then and we can focus on the stuff they’re not going to fix.

Is there any chance Xojo could make a private channel here on the forums for Apple Developers who are also Xojo Alpha/Beta testers?

While we could discuss Catalina issues here: https://forums.developer.apple.com/community/beta/macos-1015-beta I find the Apple forums are poorly attended.

Also, we would not be able to discuss Catalina issues that affected Xojo alphas or betas on the Apple dev forums.

Sure.
But start keeping things in mind (or add Feature Requests in Feedback) now, before it’s too late. Such as the ones mentioned in this post.

There’s no way that you or we would know if someone was allowed in or not. I suspect that when Apple does their first public beta that many of these restrictions will relax.

So, the public beta is out. Can we chat away?

Chat we can. I just came here because I got a really rough crash on Xojo trying to upgrade to 2019r.1.1 and then Feedback crashed HARD when trying to report the issue

(I’m not complaining. It’s a beta OS and I have Xcode beta installed as well. I’m surprised I can work full time in this)

I just had something really weird happen again: I couldn’t edit my code in Xojo. I wanted to restarted and then had a kernel panic. Weirdest macOS ever.

Yes, when installed, please use it as a Console hardware driver for AppStore applications only.

Warning: contains criticism of Apple, if you’re offended by this, please turn away now.

After 3 days of investigation; that’s my conclusion also. While I’m certain the 10 reports that I’ve filed with Apple’s “Feedback”, will all be addressed before the next public beta, I can’t help but shake the feeling, distributing your apps through the App Store is going to provide the least resistance with 3rd party software installation.
