Where is linux plugin folder?

Just for fun I wanted to try to run an app on Ubuntu. I’ve run a few really simple ones but I have the Chilkat plugin (does all kinds of networking stuff).
I need to install the plugin on Linux…

I have looked in:

  • my home directory (Xojo is installed there along with the hidden .Xojo folder)
  • /etc/
  • /usr/bin

I can’t find it…

The Xojo folder has a pre-compiled plugins folder I can see the loaded plugins under About Xojo --> loaded plugins

I tried placing the plugins there, and I tried making a plugins folder…

I also searched the help docs…

I didn’t expect it to be easy but I’m stumped now.

You’d think the menus in Xojo would have an ‘open plugins folder’ or something…

Plugins folder is next to the Xojo IDE.

Yeah - wow - I don’t have any of that. I installed via deb file from Xojo download and the software installer placed it in my home directory. Even with hidden files on I have empty folders. I must be missing something basic…

If you installed via deb package, all of that should be installed in /opt/xojo

Yes - thanks very much. Got it
