SQLite vs other DB Engines review

This site is supposedly database enginee agnostic. I have seen some slants in their reporting but fairly neutral. The link below talks about all the advancedments in 2018 in SQLite. And the charts compare it to the latest versions of the “competitors”. I am using the term competitors loosely there.

I think it is an interesting read. take with grain of salt.

Interesting article. The author states:

SQLite 3.25.0 introduces window functions. If you know window functions, you also know that this is a big deal. If you don’t know window functions, learn how to use them! This article is not the right place to explain window functions, but trust me: it is the most important “modern” SQL feature at all.

Well… of course I want to know more. Looked it up here:
Window Functions It says…

A window function is a special SQL function where the input values are taken from a “window” of one or more rows in the results set of a SELECT statement.

Not sure what that means. Or how one might use this most important “modern” SQL feature. Maybe someone would be willing to pose a practical example. In theory, of course.
