Unwanted period [.] in source code

  1. 8 months ago

I have been wondering why my programs occasionally fail to compile, after doing maintenance.

I found unwanted periods [.] in the source code, which I initially believed was my poor typing.

Today I noticed that the same convention used in my iPhone for text messages is cropping up in Xojo 2018 r4 - if you hit the space bar twice quickly, the text editor enters a period [.] as though you are typing a message.

Is that something new or is it coming from the Apple Mojave OS? I have to slow down my typing to prevent this, and don't recall it happening in earlier MacOS or earlier Xojo releases.
