    @Alexis Cnbsp;Lugo Hello friends
    my country has been destroyed by a category 5 hurricane I would like to move to north carolina.
    If you can help me how to get a job and how much is the cost of renting a studio.
    thanks for any help the economy of
    my country is on the floor we have 75 days without power at home.

    Save a little money and live south of the border :-) Just relocated from Virginia to South Carolina, myself. :-) Went to school in NC... The state is a little "backward" for progression of society and laws...

    For instance:
    Chapter 51. Marriage ARTICLE 1. General Provisions. §51-3. - A marriage can be declared void if either of the two persons is physically impotent. (So much for commitment and 'til death do us part'...which is a verbal agreement under NC law....but contradict one another)

    It’s against the law to sing off key. (Not likely to be enforced)

    If a man and a woman who aren’t married go to a hotel/motel and register themselves as married then, according to state law, they are legally married. (non-married individuals of the opposite !@#$% aren't technically allowed to have a room at a hotel/motel under NC law.)

    If a domestic dispute breaks out between a man and a woman, both parties are held until one takes the blame (or both suffer the consequences.)

    Happy Hour is illegal.

    In the city of Charlotte - Women must have their bodies covered by at least 16 yards of cloth at all times. (not really enforced)

    While most of the silly laws aren't enforced, you'll find the occasional banana of an officer that's just trying to make quota and looks for every stupid thing they can. Most judges give the "are you serious" look, and toss it out though :-p When I process loans for North Carolina...we can't charge an origination fee by law, so it's called a "loan maintenance fee" on the closing disclosures. It's all in the "word magic."

    There are definitely places in NC that are better than others, as with all places. I believe @Mike C resides in NC... perhaps he can shed some input on the better places to live.

    I’d like to see the sources for what you’ve listed here. Doing a quick search, I can find no official mention of the happy hour law for instance. However I can find lots of restaurants in NC advertising how great their happy hour is.

    I'm not sure about now, but when I used to travel into the RTP for business, nightclubs didn't charge an admission fee, they charged a recurring membership fee so they can be listed as "Private" and get around many of the ABC rules. And, another "member" in line had to "invite" you into the club so that you could "join" and get your little card.

    Lol thanks Alberto for getting to that before I could :-) it's absolutely ridiculous how changing the wording can make something illegal into something legal or vice versa. If you call a banana an orange, that don't make it an orange lol.... Or calling "theft", "temporarily borrowing without permission." That's why there were so many issues with designer drugs a few years back in NC; they banned the sale of "X," so people repackaged it and called it "incense" or "bath salt" and put a "not for human consumption" label on it. Eventually the govt got sick of the smarty-pants and said "possession of molecules in the configurations of X,Y,Z are illegal"... Ending the word magic game. :-) Word magic remains in effect everywhere else though. There's a lot of places like that Tim, that require membership by invite for special "perks," using wording and special tricks to circumvent statutes, rules, and regulations (which only apply to a BUSINESS; but a majority of law enforcement are ignorant to the fact there's a difference between those and "law", which applied to PERSONS). Nowadays they throw them around interchangeably. But then again, most people have already willingly forfeited their rights under Capitus dominutio Maxima (How does your name appear on all govt and state issued docs?) That's a topic for another day https://thelawdictionary.org/capitis-diminutio/ :-)
