Nice Quickstart with Pi 3

Now I have a couple of days for playing with Raspberry Pi 3.

Yesterday I received my Vilros Ultimate Starter Kit from Amazon (plus a SunFounder 37 Modules Sensor Kit and more). Plugin in a USB keyboard with mouse and an HDMI monitor, connecting it to the power-cable and voil: it is up and running with a graphical UI. I enabled SSH and allowed root access and then I used Transmit to copy ‘Eddie’s Electronics’ test web application onto it. It runs like a charm. I did not expect it to be as responsive, very nice!

I also installed Webmin on it and it works just as I know it from the Ubuntu Servers I am administrating with it. This all looks straight forward and very promising. I like it!

Next step is to work through Eugene Dakin’s “I wish I Knew How To … Program Rasbberry Pi” - let’s see what else we can do with it!

So small and it looks (on screen) like a full featured 2017 computer.

“Elle a tout d’une grande” ;-

An image is worth thousand words !

Hi Oliver,

Where did you order? Amazon.de tells me it does not ship to Switzerland?

Thanks

Yes, that’s right (there is an increasing number of European online shops which refuse to deliver to Switzerland).
Therefor I have a shipping address in Germany, near Basel.

Thanks. I have not gone that way yet, but it is certainly looking like I will soon.
