Old topic but I get the point of Patrick: it we are not suppose to use it please spare us headache and do not set it on Xojo. I’ve just spend 4 hours to make the thing work following this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmUdrZosNNc&index=6&list=PLPoq910Q9jXgxohaCxHWSmciQCuqm73l2 (issued , by the way, by an Xojo official) and to learn here that no question about it will be answered because the method is “depreciated”

after mostly four years the bug is still there (at least for me in 2018r4) and I was not able to find a clear position from Xojo.
Will the datacontrol be repaired or not?
I would like to know since it is not too bad to use.

Assume until told otherwise that the DataControl is not going to be repaired. It is on the deprecated list.
I gave up on Bound controls a long time ago. Too many things behind the scenes that are out of your control. Creating some simple load/save methods gives you better control.

Doing without will also help me to learn much more than just click around.
